Get to know Scott
A resident of Redondo Beach, located in the sunny South Bay of Los Angeles, Scott Bilowit has been a leader at the forefront of business
affairs in the area for over thirty years, particularly in Hermosa Beach, CA, where Seymour Jewelers is located.
As part of his dedication to his trade and to local Hermosa Beach businesses, Scott Billowit has served on the Board of Directors of the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce
as an Honorary Member for over twenty years.
An advocate for local downtown business associations, Scott has continued to expand and thrive both in national
and international business circles.
As a supporter of non-profit events, dedicating events in the Seymour Jewelers store to those in need such as the American Heart Association,
the local Kiwanis (of which Scott and his father, Seymour Bilowit, have been members for fifty years) and the Sandpipers Association, the Bilowit family continues to maintain
a reputation for fine jewelry, craftmanship, all combined with a history of dedication to the local community and a highly attuned spirit of giving.
Having grown up on the Peninsula in the Rolling Hills Estates area, Scott graduated from Chadwick School in 1974 and went on to the University of Puget Sound in Washington
from 1974 - 1978. After obtaining a degree in International Business and Finance, a Minor in Art and an award from the GIA in Jewelry Design, Scott entered the family business
of Seymour Jewelers with an instilled sense of a love of fine jewelery and a standard of excellence in craftsmanship and design.
With a business and an artistic background, coupled with a distinctive flair for hand designed jewelery and custom creativity, Scott Bilowit brings an international
and unique stamp to the fine jewelry created by Seymour Jewelers. Scouring the world for international collections of rare gems and jewels leads him to far-flung
areas that produce only the highest and most collectable of pearls, rare gems and fine diamonds.
Scott Bilowit's passion and eye for outstandingly memorable jewelery designs and one-of-a-kind celebratory pieces that will passed down to families for generations,
ensures a level of continuing worldwide excellence passed down from his father, Seymour Jewelers, the patriarch of the business for over fifty years. Seymour Bilowit
retired sixteen years ago, relinquishing the reins of the most accoladed jewelers in the South Bay to his son, Scott, to continue a highly established firm of fine jewelers.
Scott's distinctions and memberships include: Member of the National Clock and Watch Association, the Jewelers Board of Trade, the 24 Karat Club and the California
Jewelers Association. In 2009, Scott won the coveted Bank of Manhattan Beach, Best Local Businessman award.
